I've had the pleasure of photographing Katy's sweet family twice. I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph her for her business. She is currently working on her debut fiction novel! She is a content writer and designer.
I am very passionate about small businesses. I love doing branding sessions for people with entrepreneurial spirits. I also love to work with other creative people. Before the session, we discussed her brand, locations, and outfits.
After a last minute location change, we ended up at Remedy Coffee in Knoxville, Tennessee to take her branding photos.
I was a little bit nervous when we walked in and it was rather busy. We were able to get a spot by the window and as people left for the day, we explored more of the coffee shop.
While I'm not a coffee drinker myself, I love chai tea. Remedy had me covered with a delightful iced Chai Tea Latte. I find chai lattes are often hit or miss, but Remedy's was excellent!
I always get detail shots along with portraits for my branding sessions. Detail shots can help make your website look more cohesive since the style matches across all your photos. Detail shots are also great for Instagram!

We tried many times to get a good window shot. The constant struggle was too much glare. As we were about to leave, I wanted to try one more time since the sun was lower in the sky. The glare was reduced enough for us to get one!
